Smith School Lab

Eric Smith Middle School in New Jersey needed more space for a new 8th-grade laboratory.  The solution involved transforming a previously underused gymnasium into a highly versatile lab.  The space can be reconfigured for a variety of programs that the Science curriculum calls for.  The former gym’s tall ceilings and lack of plenum space posed unique challenges.  By using Kirlin’s 9″ pendant-mounted cylinders (LSR-09480) with 3500- and 5000-lumen packages, they ensured ample light for a wide range of experiments.
