Lowell Observatory

Kirlin’s FWC-approved 590nm long-wavelength luminaires have led to many Shoreview installations quite a way inland from nesting sea turtles. From national parks (where they do not disrupt wildlife) to dark sky locations (where they won’t interfere with your ability to marvel at the night sky), our turtle-safe luminaires offer much more than meets the eye!

One such installation is the Giovale Open Deck at Lowell Observatory. This dark sky site needed shielded, low-level lighting that wouldn’t interfere with the views around them. By using our Shoreview downlights and nightlights, they were able to provide adequate lighting for visitors to be able to safely move around without obstructing the ability to spot those lucky shooting stars.
