Kirlin Introduces MRL-2 Slot Light for MRI Departments

Kirlin Introduces the Industry’s
Most Advanced MRI-Safe Slot Light

For decades, Kirlin has offered the broadest array of LED products on the market for the MRI suite. Our MRI-safe downlight, wall wash, adjustable, sconce, white panel, scenic panel, and cylinder products are now joined by a 2.5″ static white slot light, the MRL-02SWM, which delivers up to 800 lumens per foot in standard run lengths from 2 to 12 feet. Available in 4 color temperatures with 90+ CRI standard, this fixture adds one more tool to the specifier’s lighting toolbox from Kirlin, using the same MRI drivers and filters (MRI-CABNT).

We are also thrilled to be the first lighting manufacturer to provide a full RGBW solution for the MRI space, with the launch of our color-changing 2.5″ accent light, the MRL-02CCM. Like all Kirlin MRI products, this fixture is completely non-ferromagnetic and is ordered with all the necessary system components, including remote DMX power supply, customized RF filter, shielded plug-and-play wiring, and a pre-programmed wall controller with numerous color scene options — all provided by Kirlin as product number MRI-DMXPS.

Spotlight: Kirlin Super Shallow Downlights for Restricted Plenums

Lighting for Special Environments

Super Shallow Downlights Resolve Pickles in the Plenum!

Ever since the 1940s, when Ivan Kirlin introduced recessed lighting to the world, architects and engineers have encountered crowded spaces above the ceiling line. When that happens, look no further than Kirlin’s super shallow recessed LED downlights, with 2¾” housing depth. Check out three recent projects below to learn how Kirlin solves the challenge of limited plenum depth, creating delightful transitional space between indoor and outdoor areas.

LRR-04006 @ Norman Central Library

This beautiful modern library in Norman, OK features our 4” Type IC super shallow downlight with regressed lens (LRR-04006) along the exterior soffit, which surrounds the elegant structure. The wet listed luminaires provide ideal light levels at night, while highlighting the library’s striking linear forms.

LRR-05438 @ Hyde Park Village

This upgraded shopping district in Tampa’s historic Hyde Park neighborhood features Kirlin’s 5” flare downlight (LRR-05438) in multiple trim finishes, enabling the lighting to seamlessly blend into the canopy space surrounding many notable retail establishments. Dark bronze (option -37T), black (option -38T), and standard white finishes were used in various locations around the district to match the many unique materials selected by the architect.

LRR-05440 @ Ingenuity Commercial Office Building

This commercial office building features several outdoor balconies, decks, and covered terraces, all illuminated by LRR-05440, Kirlin’s 5” super shallow downlight with flat trim. At 2500L, these fixtures provide wide flood illumination in spaces that are open to the Central Florida elements, including the occasional bout of driving rain and gale-force winds. With a UL wet listing and corrosion-resistant housing, tenants can rest assured that the LED illumination in these transitional spaces will stand the test of time.

Like all Kirlin Architectural luminaires, our super shallow products have been engineered to the highest standards of quality for indoor and outdoor use:

  • Super shallow 2¾” housing exceeds 1,000-hour ASTM salt spray corrosion test
  • Fixtures are UL listed for wet, damp, and dry locations
  • Available in medium flood (MFL), wide flood (WFL) and narrow flood (NFL)
  • Five CCT options: 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4100K, 5000K

Spotlight: Kirlin Natatorium, Pool, and Spa Expertise

Lighting for Special Environments

Pool & Natatorium Expertise from America’s Water Wonderland

Since the early 20th century, Kirlin has been illuminating pools, natatoriums, water parks, and other aquatic endeavors from our Detroit, MI factory – a stone’s throw from the Great Lakes. All our Latitudes series luminaires are engineered to resist rust and corrosion (exceeding 1000 hour ASTM salt spray test), and are available with a Natatorium option (-NAT) to ensure safety from shock hazard and maintenance-free operation in a wet, chlorinated, halogen gas environment.

Simply Add Option -NAT on Kirlin’s “Latitudes” Products

From the discreet 2” pinhole downlights (LRR-02007) installed over the beautiful pool at One Manhattan Square to our high-output 16,000L asymmetric square (LRS21605) used along the perimeter of the pool at Royal Oak High School here in Michigan, Kirlin offers natatorium-rated LED solutions to meet any need. On any product from the Latitudes collection, simply add option -NAT for our tested and trusted natatorium rating.

All Kirlin natatorium-rated luminaires sport natatorium requirements of:

  • Corrosion and rustproof: exceeding ASTM 1000-hour salt spray test
  • U.L. Listed Wet Locations: suitable in moist and wet environments
  • Electrically isolated and gasketed trims: safety from shock hazard
  • Sealed LED printed circuit board: protected from corrosive halogen gas environment
